A Rural GP Training Provider
Greater Green Triangle GP Education and Training conducted registrar interviews for 2011 training places in early July. Applicants will be notified of the results and given the opportunity to change their preferences on Wednesday, 28 July. For more information, contact GGT.
From 2011, Greater Green Triangle will be able to accept general and rural pathway registrars. General pathway placements will be available in Geelong. Practices will be accredited and available to accept placements in 2011.
At Greater Green Triangle GP Education & Training we are passionate about training registrars.
We are GP owned and driven, and this is reflected in our training, which provides a wide experience and broad understanding of General Practice in Australia today. Our educators, supervisors and staff are professional, friendly, approachable and supportive.
Our training program offers a hands-on approach, with strong mentoring support. Our regular residential workshops are interactive, informative and provide a forum to address a wide range of issues. We believe that registrars should be treated as colleagues, working equally with the Supervisors. Our training includes business understanding as well as clinical content to ensure our registrars are ready to practice anywhere as GPs, in urban or rural environments.
The Greater Green Triangle runs along Victoria's Great Ocean Road and South Australia's Limestone Coast, and north into farmland, regional cities, country towns, pristine bush. The lifestyle is more relaxed than in the capital cities, yet close enough for frequent visits.
The Practices in our area provide a range of opportunities to gain insight into the value of GP practice. The rural environment provides many positives for GP training: procedures not done by urban GPs, a congenial environment and the care of generations within families. Clinical exposures include anaesthetics, obstetrics, women's health, industrial & farm health, sports medicine, Koori health, paediatrics, and drug & alcohol medicine.
