About GPET
GPET is a public company, limited by guarantee, and subject to Corporations Law and the Commonwealth Authority and Companies Act. It was incorporated in March 2001 with the objective of implementing regionalised and contestable GP vocational training to meet the current and future health care needs of Australians, with particular emphasis on rural and remote areas. GPET is building on existing strengths and structures to establish a system that continues to meet the evolving needs of GPs and their patients.
The new system is introducing a decentralised, regional training framework across Australia, bringing greater flexibility and local relevance to GP education.

General practice education and training delivered through a high-quality program producing workforce outcomes that meet the needs of communities, individuals, registrars and general practitioners across Australia.
