Training Opportunities
The doctors in the clinic have varied medical interests including obstetrics, musculoskeletal medicine, mental health, allergies, weight control, minor surgery and women's health. All doctors are involved with registrar education and a wide spectrum of interest provides comprehensive educational coverage.
Registrar Support
Our GP supervisor provides an orientation of the town and registrars are included in the practice social calendar. We can assist in arranging accommodation through local access groups.

In our Clinic
Cambourne Clinic was constructed in the late 1800s as a doctor's residence attached to a small hospital at the rear. The hospital became the site for a general practice in 1929. In 1959, the clinic moved into the present building located in the centre of the city on the corner of Liebig Street and Raglan Parade.
Cambourne Clinic is a partnership of four doctors. Dr Ian Barratt joined the clinic in 1980. He has a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Dr Michael Quinn has a special interest in musculoskeletal medicine and has been here since 1988. Dr Andrew Chow arrived in 1995 with interests in allergies, children's health and weight loss. Dr Timothy Slattery joined Cambourne Clinic n 1999. His interests include general medicine and minor procedures.
Our clinic has nine spacious, well-equipped consulting rooms. The clinic is fully computerised, with internet available at every workstation. The software used is Zedmed - Clinical Records System. All results are imported electronically and all other correspondance is scanned.
The nursing procedure area has two rooms. Our two practice nurses work a time-share 40-hour week. The procedure rooms have equipment to perform ECGs and spirometry electronically. The nurses assist the doctors with lesion removal, suturing, wound management and dressings, implanon procedures, immunisations, POP and triage.
The clinic also has a dedicated health assessment room with two practice nurses who are also diabetic educators.
Patient Profile
Warrnambool has a population of 32,000 and approximately 12,000 in the surrounding country side. Our Clinic services a variety of people from both the city, nearby towns and the surrounding farming community. Our clinic has a wide patient base both young and old.
Specialists
There are five consultant Physicians currently practicing in Warrnambool along with General, Orthopaedic and Vascular Surgeons. Other specialties include Paediatrics, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, ENT and Plastic Surgery.
Hospitals
Our Doctors have visiting rights to South West Healthcare and St John of God Healthcare. The Doctors also visit Lyndoch Nursing Home, Warrnambool Nursing Centre, Gillin Park Retirement Home and Koroit Nursing Centre.
Hours of Operation
Monday - Friday: 8.15 am - 6.30pm
Saturday: 9.00 am - 12noon
Doctors' sessions commence at 9.00 am and 2.00 pm daily.
Registrars can expect to be rostered on-call 1 night a week and 1 in 4 'short' weekends (Friday night to 12.00noon on Saturday). Our clinic shares weekend duty with Hopkins Medical Clinic and therefore full weekend duty is only required 1 in 8 weekends. (From Friday night to Monday morning at 8.15)
