Winchelsea

Winchelsea is a pleasant small town of 1,000 people (with another 1,500 in the surrounding area) and is located on the Barwon River only a half hour drive from Geelong and west coast beaches and 112km southwest of Melbourne.

It is a rural community with a primary school, supermarket, bank, swimming pool, two hotels and several other small shops. The Melbourne - Geelong - Warrnambool train passes through several times daily.

A wide range of leisure activities is available including golf, tennis and lawn bowls; there is a local Community House which offers several types of adult education, and a local repertory society.
